Wal-Mart Stores Inc, the world's largest retailer, said on Saturday that it still expects a 2 percent to 4 percent increase in November sales at its US stores open at least one year. On a recording detailing sales through Friday, Wal-Mart said sales were strongest in bedding, ladies wear, pet supplies and food categories.
The Bentonville, Arkansas-based company said sales picked up in the apparel categories, including strength in licensed apparel and active wear.
Wal-Mart's four-week November sales reporting period runs from October 30 to November 26. Wal-Mart noted that next week is the strongest sales week for the reporting period.
