German intellectual and career diplomat Dr Gunter Mulack emphasised the need for understanding the teachings of Islam, a religion of tolerance, peace and love. Speaking on 'Dialogue on Islam' at a lecture session organised by the Department of International Relation, University of Sindh on Saturday, the head of the office of Dialogue Berlin, Germany, said lack of understanding of Islamic teachings has created misconceptions resulting in prejudices and injustices.
Dr Gunter said that the need of the hour is that people world over launches a joint campaign against injustice to create a world when the mankind leave in peace and harmony.
He said that there is big history of wars but through these wars problems could not be resolved and added that only through peaceful dialogue the problems confronted by people through war and added that only dialogue can resolve these problems.
He said that we hope and trust over young generation would understand the problems and play its role towards creating a better understanding imperative for peaceful co-existence.
He said that the German Scholars played key role in development of relationship all over the world and added that Dr Annemarie Schimmel was a learned scholar from German was a great friend of Pakistan.
He said that Germany, a country which sincerely believe in offering dialogue with Muslim countries. But on account of misunderstanding people in some parts of Europe having misconception against Islam are out to exploit the situation but they will not be allowed any more and added that soon Europe would warmly welcome every Muslim in Germany.
He said that the Muslim world, most part of which comprises of Asian countries has very rich traditions and culture what is needed is social justice, respect of basic rights and added that the society should also fulfill its obligations to root out injustices and corruption.
The German scholar stressing upon the Pakistani youth that they should have to concentrate on education and play their role in development of their country.
Speaking about the foreign investment he said Pakistan presently have bright prospects to attract foreign investment but it had to create a peaceful atmosphere in the country.
He also highlighted the steps taken by the India and Bangladesh to facilitate foreign investors in their countries. He said that in the Muslim countries more then 80 percent Madaris have been modernised in different parts and hoped these educational institutions would also help in development of important section of the society.
He said that the youth have to open up their eyes and minds to learn the skills, get higher education and compete for development.
He said that for the competition there is dire need to develop your country, improve level of science education and research.
He said that for the learning, education and development we should have to adopt the teaching of Islam.
He said that the new century is facing lot of problems and for the resolving of the problems it is need of time to achieve through dialogue, opening ness and self-critical.
He said that rule of law; equity and justice is key for the development and added that in many developing countries in world today are facing the problem of poverty.
He said that he sincerely believes that the Pakistan could also achieve the high position of the development if young generation can play its role for the development of society.
He said that the youth studying in the universities are key partners of the development of any society and same time in Pakistan youth only is able to play their an important role for the betterment of their country.
Vice Chancellor Sindh University Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has urged to make joint efforts for the promotion of the peace and love world over which had been reduce to a global village.
Presiding over the Lecture on "Dialogue with Islam" delivered by the German Ambassador Dr Gunter Mulack said that the justice in society would be helpful for development of peaceful world.
He said that the injustice is absolutely main constraint in development of peaceful atmosphere and added that there is dire need that the problems must be addressed through negotiation.
He said that the academicians, intellectuals should study the background and reasons, which had given birth to injustice at global level. He said that today the 21st century is a century of education and knowledge and only knowledge-based society would be a powerful society.
He said that the history is evident that the Muslim scholars and intellectuals transform the knowledge to their younger generation which benefited the people from all over the world.
He said that the western people also demonstrated for the justice with Muslim people and there were huge demonstration in London and California for justice with Muslims instead of the Muslim countries.
