Setting up of new industries inevitable

Punjab Minister for Tourism Mian Mohammad Aslam Iqbal has said that establishment of new industries is inevitable for promotion of trade activities in the province. Addressing various delegations of traders who called on him here on Sunday, the minister said that the present government was trader-friendly and was attaching top priority to resolve their problems. Due to far-reaching policies of the present government, the traders community has been able to get rid of various tax-related problems, he added.
He said that the government will consult traders community at each level to resolve their problems. The government for the fist time in history has given due importance to traders and no one could deny the role of Punjab government it has played in resolving their income tax and sales tax-related problems, he claimed.
He said that the provincial government was also in touch with the federal government to resolve various problems of the traders and industrialist community of Punjab and get maximum monitory facilities for them.
Mian Aslam Iqbal further said that setting up of new industries was inevitable to boost trade activities in the province and that is why the provincial government has established new industrial estates in the province while work on rehabilitation of old industrial estates is also underway.
To a query raised by the traders, the minister said that the government was fully aware of their problems about property tax and assured them that their grievances in this regard would be redressed with consultation of their representatives. He also urged the traders to supplement the government efforts for promotion of trade and industrial activities.
