All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman Syed Ali Gilani has said here on Sunday that he has got a roadmap on Kashmir which is more viable and practicable. In an exclusive interview with a local Urdu daily, Wadi Ki Awaz, Gilani said: "He too has got a roadmap on Kashmir. Our roadmap is very practicable, viable, and it would be acceptable to all the three parties to the dispute." He said he will disclose the contents of the roadmap at an appropriate time, reports Kashmir Media Service.
Gilani, however, said as a pre-requisite, India will have to accept the ground realities in occupied Kashmir and accept the its disputed nature, adding India's unrealistic policy on Kashmir is the main hurdle in the peaceful resolution of the dispute.
The APHC chief said: "India will have to shun its negative policy. If India shows flexibility, then things will be different. Only India's unrealistic stand remains in the way of peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute."
Pakistan has been willing to show flexibility and during past 11 months it has shown a lot of flexibility in its stand on Kashmir, but it has not achieved anything, as India has not changed its stand on Kashmir, he said, adding India has outright rejected the recent proposal of President Pervez Musharraf on Kashmir.
On the troops reduction in Kashmir, Gilani said that pulling of 30,000 or 40,000 troops out of 800,000 troops is not going to have any effect. If Indian government is sincere then it should withdraw major portion of its forces from occupied Kashmir and send them back to barracks, he added.
The Disturbed Areas Act, Special Powers Act and other draconian laws prevalent in occupied Kashmir should be totally revoked so that people can heave a sigh of relief, he said, adding that pulling of some thousand odd troops is not going to serve any purpose.
