Information and Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has appreciated the standard of programmes presented by the Pakistan Television (PTV) on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, and proved that it is a real family channel. Appreciating the presentation and content of the PTV programmes on the day, he especially lauded the graphics and colour schemes used by PTV for presentation of different programmes.
Referring to the standard of the PTV programmes presented on the occasion, the minister said it had proved that PTV is truly a family channel.
The minister said the PTV, being a channel watched country wide, sharing variety of responsibilities, has proved its worth by coming up to the expectations of the viewers.
Lauding the role of PTV Managing Director Arshad Khan, he said it was for the first time that PTV had arranged airing of Urdu feature film for three consecutive days of Eid.
Appreciating the efforts of Arshad Khan, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said in the past the PTV earned a profit of Rs 17.30 million, while on this Eid PTV earned a record profit of Rs 30 million.
He said the programmes during special Eid transmission were also made keeping in view the varied taste of the viewers.
The PTV programmes, which were greatly appreciated by the viewers, included, Salam Pakistan, Marhaba Ramzan, and the Eid special transmission.
People from different walks of life in their messages have said the PTV was a family channel that could be viewed while sitting at their homes along with other family members.
