'MMA determined to hold public meeting in Karachi'

Liaquat Baloch, Central Deputy Secretary of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) and Naib Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami has said that the alliance was determined to hold public meeting on November 28. Addressing a press conference at Idara-e-Noor-e-Haq here on Sunday, he said Karachi has always played a positive role for strengthening of democracy. When asked about meeting between Maulana Fazlur Rahman and the Prime Minister, he said that it was a routine meeting which would help in creating a better relationship with the government.
On a query whether leader of the opposition and Chief Minister of NWFP would attend the meeting of National Security Council (NSC), JI Naib Amir said that MMA has adopted a principled stand and would not deviate an inch.
He said the question of attending the NSC meeting would be decided in MMA's meeting, scheduled on Wednesday at Karachi. Replying to another question, he said that ARD and MMA would meet on November 23 at Islamabad where joint movement and other issues would be deliberated upon and decided by the respective leadership.
