Syria's General Foreign Trade Organisation (Geza) said on Tuesday it was seeking to buy 26,000 tonnes of white sugar and 26,000 tonnes of raw sugar. Geza, the state-owned sugar and rice importer, set the shipment date for January 20-February 20. Telex offers should be received between 1200 GMT on December 14 and 0500 GMT on December 15, while for mailed bids the deadline is December 14.
This month a Geza official said the agency bought 26,000 tonnes of white sugar at $260 per tonne from Egypt's International Company for Trade Exchange.
