A seminar on inter-provincial co-ordination will be held in the first week of January 2005 in Karachi. This was decided by Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Minister Dr Sohrab Khan Sarki, while presiding over a meeting with the officers of the Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Department here on Wednesday. The minister briefed the meeting that the seminar would consist three sessions in which scholars, journalists and bureaucrats belonging to all the four provinces would participate.
Highlighting the main objectives of the seminar he said that it would discuss different inter-provincial problems and resolve them through developing consensus among the provinces. The recommendations of the participants of the seminar would be sent to the governors and chief ministers of all the four provinces for final approval, he added.
He said that Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim would soon contact the chief ministers of Punjab, NWFP and Balochistan for fixation of date of the seminar, which would be held in the first week of January.
Besides the inter-provincial ministers of all the provinces, secretaries of finance, agriculture, irrigation, home, revenue, culture, and tourism would also participate in the seminar. Later, Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Department Secretary Aftab Ahmed Memon briefed the minister about the arrangements made for the seminar.
