Federal Minister for Industries Production and Special Initiatives, Jehangir Khan Tareen has emphasised that "Pakistan event" on the occasion of Hanover Fair in Germany will be made memorable and successful, as it would not only increase exports of industrial products but also improve Pakistan's image abroad. The minister made these remarks while jointly presiding with Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan a high level meeting for finalising arrangements for the proposed event being held from April 11 to 15 next year.
Well known industrialist, Nabeel Hashmi gave a detailed presentation and highlighted the important aspects. The ministers were informed that previous 2004 Hannover Fair was quiet successful as it was participated by more than 5,000 international exhibitors from 60 different countries of the world and Pakistan has also been participating since last three years with three to five companies.
They also suggested that the government would primarily focus on industrial machinery and software machine parts and other engineering goods as these remain the focal interest of visitors to the fair.
Jehangir Tareen was of the view that both ministries should make the most of this premier engineering trade fair by increasing the participation of Pakistan from three to 35 companies in the fair. He also emphasised that his ministry is totally committed to engineering sector in order to bring not only foreign exchange but also technology to Pakistan.
