CAP announces consumer choice awards

Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) has taken the initiative of instituting on a regular yearly basis "Consumers Choice Awards" for such products and services, which enjoys distinct quality, cost and reputation over others. Addressing a press conference Chairman CAP Kaukab Iqbal and Chief Co-ordinator Siraj Uddin told that the awards would lead to an environment of healthy consumerism in the country and dissemination of correct knowledge to the consumers about various consumer goods and services and saving them from becoming victims of misleading advertisements.
The range of products and services initially selected for this year includes a very diversified variety of consumer goods and services. CAP has already floated this idea in the business circles and initial survey results are encouraging, he said.
It would be an annual award and the period of service will be a calendar year. Final decision of awards would be made by a panel of professionally competent persons for whom the judgement criteria will inter alia include the quality, cost, market credibility, availability, media image, environment friendly, certification against national and international standards and product information manuals etc.
