Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Board (PHDEB) arranged a one-day workshop at Bhalwal on the topic of compliance under WTO (World Trade Organisation) regime with focus on EUREPGAP (Europe Good Agricultural Practices), SPS (Syto Plyto Sanitary)/integrated pest management, quality standards and good agricultural practices.
According to a press release issued by PHDEB on Friday, Chaudhry Muhammad Mohsin Warriach, chief organiser Anjuman-e-Kashtekaran Punjab, who chaired the workshop, lauded the activities of PHDEB.
He highlighted the problems being faced by citrus growers, colour and size of fruit, fruit fall and fruit fly. "The present crop condition is little bit lower this year," he said.
Dr Ijaz Ahmed of PHDEB highlighted the salient features of the workshop, role of PHDEB for citrus development, Citrus Task Force, seedless Kinnow plants, and drip irrigation and awareness workshop/seminars organised for citrus stakeholders.-PR
