Asia's biggest World Performing Arts Festival 2004, which was inaugurated on Friday here at Alhamra Cultural Complex, was being sponsored by leading cellular company of the country Mobilink. The 12-day mega event was being held in partnership with The Rafi Peer Theatre Group (RPTG).
While speaking on the occasion, Zouhair A. Khaliq, President and CEO Mobilink, said that Mobilink has always strove to support quality cultural events in Pakistan, helping to support and portray the positive image of a liberal and open society to the world outside.
Keeping in view these ideas, he said that promoting the World Performing Arts Festival 2004 was another step towards this direction. "Mobilink was proud to be a part of such a quality international event and pledged its support to further the cause of cultural entertainment in the future too," he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Usman Peerzada of the RPTG highlighted various aspects of the festival. He thanked Mobilink for its support and sponsorship without which the event would not have been possible.
The festival was opening from Saturday for the public and would run till December 7. Visitors and locals will be able to enjoy a variety of rich cultural shows and captivating musical, theatrical, puppets and dance performances. First-class artists and performers from across the world will put on a variety of shows to entertain the public.-PR
