US core inflation modest: Fed's Poole

US core inflation is modest and the direct effect of the dollar's drop on prices has not been enormous, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis chief William Poole said on Saturday.
Poole, a voting member of the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee, told reporters in Prague he did not believe the weaker dollar and high energy prices have produced any significant change to date to the inflationary outlook.
