There is no pullout of the troops from South Waziristan Agency or any other area of the Fata and action would be taken as and when required, if there is credible information about presence of foreign miscreants in the area or their involvement in the terrorist activities.
A spokesman of the ISPR, while clarifying a news item regarding removal of check-posts and pull out of troops from Wana, said on Saturday that since Ahmedzai Wazir's area in South Waziristan Agency has been secured and wanted men had surrendered to the government, the check posts in Azam Warsak and Shin Warsak would be manned by the local tribesmen.
Political administration and security forces while working on stabilisation of situation in the area would focus on development activities, he added,
The ISPR spokesman said that operation would continue in Mehsud area of South Waziristan Agency, where some of the wanted men are still at large and have not yet surrendered.
He said that there were three reasons for deployment of security forces in the Fata: Secure the Western borders, assist the political administration in undertaking the development works and apprehend the foreign and local miscreants who were hiding in some of these areas.
The spokesman said that the development activities have gone at a reasonable pace in those areas where there was no disruption by the miscreants.
Some of the areas have been cleansed of the miscreants and the government with assistance from the local tribesmen would ensure that there was no re-emergence of miscreants.
