Dry fruits register sharp rise on commodity markets

Dry fruits registered sharp rise and plastic mouldings strangely showed no change during the week ended on November 27, 2004, dealers said. The other commodities moved both ways without showing significant changes.
Commodities underwent changes were dry fruits, gur, khandsari, wheat, jute goods, raw rubber, moong Punjab, guwar and til Sindh and rapeseed, milk powder has been undergoing heavy change, which started during Ramazan and sustained after post-Eid trading.
Gur was down Rs 100 to Rs 1800, inferior was quoted at Rs 1480, Khandsari lost Rs 50 to Rs 1900, wheat shed Rs 10 to Rs 1330 (old).
Rapeseed Nawabshah seen lower at Rs 740 and Rs 745, rapeseed cakes inferior gained Rs 3 to Rs 267, and better seen at Rs 268. Wheat was down again Rs 30 to Rs 1300, new was down Rs 25 to Rs 1310, gram grade Punjab quoted at Rs 2150 and Rs 2185.
Bajra was up Rs 10 to Rs 5, old wheat unchanged, sugar lost Rs 50 to Rs 1930, and Rs 1950, til Sindh down Rs 50 to Rs 1800 inferior til unchanged, moong Punjab quoted higher at Rs 2125 per 100 kg, Guwar up at Rs 1875 and better at Rs 1950.
JUTE GOODS: 20x3 Bawani brown up Rs 2.50 to Rs 34, 16x3 CRT/Indus up Rs 2 to Rs 34, 8x3 up Rs 2 to Rs 48, 40x2 Bawani Brown up Rs 2 to Rs 32, Hessian cloth 45x10 Amin up Rs 300 to Rs 1850, 45x11 up Rs 400 to Rs 1950, 50x9 Thul up Rs 275 to Rs 1700, 45x9 Thul up 300 to Rs 1600 and 45x8 United up Rs 450 to Rs 1600.
MILK POWDER: Euro Gold up Rs 200 to Rs 4280, Bale Vale up Rs 200 to Rs 4200, Bale Haleeb up Rs 250 to Rs 4200 and 5-Star up Rs 200 to Rs 4200.
RAW RUBBER: Ceylon RSSV down Re 1 to Rs 46.50, Pale Crape TPC 3 down Rs 5 to Rs 62. The Semnan Tex down Rs 5 to Rs 350 and Thai (GT) down Rs 8 to Rs 347.
FRIDAY'S: Cotton cakes shed Rs 5 to Rs 410 and Rs 415, guwar up Rs 25 to Rs 1900, 1975.
DRY FRUITS: Almond from Chaman up Rs 400 to Rs 3600, Girdi up Rs 4000 to Rs 22000, Kaghzi Wahidi up Rs 1000 to Rs 10,000, Kaghzi I up Rs 2500 to Rs 8000. Kaghzi II up Rs 800 to Rs 5200, Walnut in shell I up Rs 600 to Rs 2800, II up Rs 200 to Rs 3000, Walnut Kernal quoted at Rs 8000/16000. Raisin Green up Rs 600 to Rs 3800, Chilghoza roasted up Rs 4000 to Rs 26,000 unroasted up Rs 4000 to Rs 26000, pistachio up Rs 8000 to Rs 30,000 and FMs up Rs 200 to Rs 3200. There was no changed noted in plastic mouldings.
ON SATURDAY: the cereals side, wheat Mexipak quoted at Rs 1250 and new was available at Rs 1260 in the process of trading. Gram dal lost Rs 20 to Rs 2450 and Rs 2480, however, gram dal beetle gained Rs 100 to Rs 2650 and Rs 2690.
On the seed side, cottonseed oilcakes with bag shed Rs three to Rs 407-412 on comfortable supply, brokers said.
