Government to encourage merit, hard work: Sindh governor

Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that it is important to motivate and encourage people. He was speaking as the chief guest at the annual awards night of Siemens Pakistan where top students from engineering universities across the country were awarded gold medals. The governor said: "It is the aim of the government to encourage and motivate merit and hard work in the government.
Dr Ishrat highly praised those parents, who support their children and thus are instrumental in helping them achieve outstanding results. He said the parents of the gold medal winners must also be congratulated and recognised because they provided the platform from where these bright young people could leap to such success.
He praised Siemens for holding a function to honour these engineering students and to acknowledge the excellence of its own employees and said companies that recognise the efforts of their employees deserve full co-operation from the government.
Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui, managing director Siemens Pakistan, in his address of welcome said, "the presence of the governor demonstrates his deep commitment to the cause of education and in the recognition of merit."
He said: "Social responsibility is one of the key elements of the philosophy of Siemens Pakistan and Siemens strives to fulfil it's social responsibility and serves the community with which it conducts its business. This he said "is part of global philosophy of Siemens."
Later, the governor distributed awards to Siemens employees and gold medals to engineering students from across the country.-PR
