Malaysian palm exports 1,095,099 tonnes in November: SGS

Exports of Malaysian oil palm products for November stood at 1,095,099 tonnes, down 10.8 percent from the 1,227,363 tonnes seen for October, cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance said on Tuesday. But the figure was 5.2 percent higher when compared with SGS's estimate of 1,040,762 tonnes for November 2003. SGS said in a shipment estimate, which also includes a small amount of lauric oils, that the 1,095,099 tonnes for November included 986,181 tonnes of palm oil.
In the palm oil category, 128,506 tonnes were made up of RBD palm oil, 481,985 tonnes of RBD palm olein, 151,715 tonnes of RBD palm stearin and 105,897 tonnes of crude palm oil.
China was the biggest buyer of Malaysian oil palm products for November, taking 271,594 tonnes, followed by Pakistan which bought 86,940 tonnes, and Japan with 61,045 tonnes.
European Union countries, another major destination, accounted for 250,156 tonnes of the export total.
