US MIDDAY: corn rebounds

04 Dec, 2004

Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade rebounded on Friday after falling to three-year lows this week, traders said. CBOT corn futures were 1-3/4 to 2-3/4 cents per bushel by 11 am CST (1600 GMT). December corn was up 2 cents at $1.94-1/2. March was up 1-1/2 at $2.05-1/2.
Man Financial and Fimat Futures were among the early buyers of March corn.
Commodity investment funds hold a net record short position in CBOT corn futures of around 90,000 lots and that limits the downside movement in corn, traders said.
