All-out efforts are being made for resolving the problems confronting to masses living in the rural and urban areas of the district said Sialkot District Nazim Mian Naeem Javed. Talking to Business Recorder here on Sunday he added that district government had focused its attention on the providing better facilities like health, means of communication, education, rural electrification telecommunication in the district.
He revealed that more than Rs 310.18 million were being spent on various projects of health sector during current fiscal period in three tehsils of the district.
The construction work of trauma centre is nearing completion and this project would be completed at cost of Rs 20 million besides, burn units was also being established at Allama Iqbal hospital, he disclosed.
The district Nazim revealed that Rs 20.22 million would be mobilised on the repair of district, tehsil hospitals, and rural health centres and basic health centres for ensuring health cover the people at their doorstep.
Over Rs 50.75 million were being spent on the repair of existing roads in Sialkot, Daska and Pasrur tehsils besides the repair work of 117 KM long 47 roads have already been completed in far-off and ignored areas aimed at linking these areas with their respective tehsil headquarters, he added.
In order to provide the facility of electricity Rs 500,0000 were being spent on the village electrification programme in the district and during past year 30 villages and additional abodes had been provided the electricity at cost of Rs 9700,000, he disclosed.
The district Nazim said that special attention has been accorded on providing telecommunication facilities to the rural population of the district.
Under the programme 31 telephone exchanges having the capacity of 12,500 lines are being established for providing the telephone facility to 250 villages of Sialkot, he added.
