Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Turkey on Sunday for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening political and economic ties between the two countries, the Anatolia news agency reported. Putin's visit is the first of its kind in 32 years. The Russian leader is scheduled to attend a dinner given in his honour by his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Necdet Sezer later Sunday before official talks on Monday.
The talks are expected to focus on ways of increasing cooperation in the fight against global terrorism and further boost spectacular progress in trade.
