Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday said private sector has been playing very effective role in improving the economic development of the country and generating job opportunities. Talking to a delegation of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here at Prime Minister House, he said the private sector was contributing effectively in the economy as an "engine of growth".
He said the government had been providing best possible facilities to the private sector so they could continue to participate in the improvement of national economy.
Shaukat Aziz asked the SCCI members to find new avenues for investment in Pakistan taking advantage of the investment friendly atmosphere.
The Prime Minister said in view of development and reconstruction in Afghanistan, the SCCI could play more active role in capturing business in Afghanistan.
He said the government was also actively considering to increase the number of flights between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
