Mehsud's house demolished

07 Dec, 2004

Authorities on Monday wrecked the houses of a former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Abdullah Mehsud and his relatives in a remote tribal region near Afghanistan, an official said. "Five houses belonging to Abdullah Mehsud and his relatives were demolished with explosives and later bulldozed," a local administration official told AFP by telephone from Wana.
The action was taken under the local tribal law of collective responsibility, he said, adding that the residences in Waziristan's Nanu village were abandoned.
