Body told to submit report for Ring Road project execution

The government has constituted a 14-member committee to look into the Rs 10 billion Ring Road Project in Rawalpindi, which will review the project and give final shape to it for execution. District Nazim Raja Tariq Mehboob Kiani has directed the members of the committee to look into the matter and make sure the final report would be submitted before the government up to December 15.
In order to address the increasing traffic pressure and end the traffic jams in the city, it was imperative the Ring Road project kicked off as soon as possible, Kiani said adding a space of 20 ft would be left on the rig road in order to run a Circular Train in Rawalpindi which would further compensate the traffic rush on roads.
Government, he said was committed to provide better communication facilities to people in order to improve their living standard and provide them an efficient system.
He said the Ring Road Project would be completed within the period of one year with the estimated cost of Rs 10 billion. It would not only end the traffic problems in the city but also initiate the economic activities.
