Record uplift schemes launched in NWFP: Siraj

The NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has said that record number of developmental schemes have been launched in the province by MMA government besides solid steps for enforcement of Shariah and reformation of society. No parallel is available of our development works in the past 56 years done in a short span, he added. Addressing a public meeting at Sakhakot on Monday afternoon he said that MMA government set a milestone by starting decisive negotiations with federal government for payment of hydel net profit share of the province with its outstanding dues amounting to Rs 345 billion.
He said centre had to settle this issue for good if it was least interested in removing backwardness and poverty over here and bringing NWFP in the national mainstream of development.
He said Rs 420 million have been set aside for improving communication network in Malakand region that could guarantee speedy progress and prosperity of the area. He said establishment of Women University and Girls Medical College in Peshawar were nevertheless hallmark of our performance to enable women folk demonstrate their creative capabilities for development of the nation in accordance with their religious norms and traditions.
Referring to the by-election on NA-35 Malakand, he said that MMA candidate Bakhtiar Muani has all abilities to work for ameliorating lot of the people of the area besides supporting cause of MMA for enforcement of Shariah and glory of Islam in the region.
He said that MMA was not contesting this election for individual or party gains but promoting a just ideology of cherishing the longstanding dream of Islamisation in the country and renaissance of Islam.
The public meeting was also addressed by NWFP Minister for Food Fazle Rabbani Advocate, NA-35 by-election candidate Bakhtiar Muani, renowned political figure, Zafar Khan, and other elite of the area who highlighted achievement of MMA government for the cause of Islam and development of the area.
On this occasion, ANP activists Zafar Khan, Mukammil Shah and Ejaz Khan joined Jamaat Islami along with hundreds of their supporters who reposed full confidence in provincial and central leadership of the MMA as well as extended all out support to its policies.
