The last date to avail of loan facility settlement under recovery relief package 2004 of the Zarai Tarraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has been extended and fixed at December 31. This relief package was notified and implemented by the ZTBL in pursuance of President General Pervez Musharraf's announcement on the occasion of farmers convention at the Convention Centre Islamabad. Earlier, the last date was extended keeping in view the positive response and borrower's demand.
All the eligible borrowers of agriculture loans (general credit) with total outstanding balance up to Rs 0.5 million as of 2003-04, over due from 31-12-2000 (and in loss category now) can apply along with 10 percent token money by the extended date to avail of the opportunity and on payment of only 50 percent of the outstanding amount or principal amount whichever is higher, to settle their loan accounts.
The small borrowers of calamity-hit areas of Balochistan with an outstanding amount up to Rs 0.2 million as of April 30 over due from December 31 whose development areas were declared as calamity-hit continuously for the last three years, should also apply along with 10 percent token money before December 31 for the relief.
The bank's field staff is extending full co-operation to the borrowers and field days are being held to apprise them of the benefits of the package.
The bank urged upon the borrowers to avail of this facility to settle their long outstanding accounts before the expiry of the last date.
