Under Punjab chief minister's package: sale of 10 kg atta bags in full swing

Under the Punjab chief minister's special package, the sale of atta bags weighing 10-kg is in full swing in Sialkot, Pasrur, Daska, and Sambrial tehsils of Sialkot district. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that under the package more than 26.5 million atta bags would be provided to the poor and deserving families of four tehsils of the district.
Over 13,000 families would be able to avail the facility under the package, and the Ata bags of 10-kg was being sold at Rs 90 per bag in Sialkot district and the Punjab government will provide subsidy of Rs 6.5 million in this regard.
The provincial government had taken the step for providing relief to poor and deserving segment of the society, and the facility of Atta bags would be available four times in a month in the district.
As many as 25 sales centres have been established in the district of which 12 in tehsil Sialkot, five in tehsil Pasrur and four each in Daska and Sambrial tehsils to facilitate such families.
The process of sale of Atta would be aimed at averting the malpractice while supply of quality of Atta would also be ensured at sale points in four tehsils of the district.
