LIMA: Copper output in Peru rose 42 percent in June compared with the same month in 2015 while gold production increased 4 percent, official data showed Thursday.

Peru is expected to become the world's second biggest copper producer this year thanks to surging output from new mines, according to the energy and mines ministry.
