A fire at Charles de Gaulle airport outside Paris forced the evacuation of 500 people from one of its terminals Tuesday, officials and fire-fighters said. The blaze, which started from an electrical malfunction in a baggage area of the facility's Terminal 1, generated much smoke but resulted in no casualties, the managing company Aeroports de Paris said in a statement.
It added that the facility opened fully hours later, though knock-on delays were felt for some departing flights. Seven planes that were to have docked at the terminal were redirected to another during the incident.
