Reshifting of Afghan trade office demanded

Chairman, Frontier Customs Agents Group and SCCI standing committee on Railway and Dry port, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi has expressed concern of the shifting of the office of Afghan Trade Commission to University Town. In a press release issued here on Friday, he demanded of Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, Afghan Minister for Trade and Commerce, Amin Arsala, Foreign Minister, Dr Abdullah and Afghan Ambassador in Islamabad, Afghan Consular General and Director General of Foreign Affairs to re-shift the office in larger interest of all those businessmen who are trading with Afghanistan to Afghan Building, Qissakhawani, Peshawar.
He said that all the concerned businessmen and traders have established their offices near Afghan Building as the office of the Afghan Trade Commissioner was stationed here since 1965. Few years back it was shifted to Mall Road and later in the interest of business community it was re-shifted to Afghan Building. The venue remained the same during Taleban government also.
Sarhadi said that as the offices of Afghan National Bank and Trade Bank is also situated inside Afghan Building, but the office of Afghan Trade Commissioner has been shifted to University Town. The shifting has increased the problems of all those businessmen who are trading with Afghanistan.
