Sindh Minister of Information Technology Mustafa Kamal said on Friday that Sindh is a safe and profitable region for investment in Information Technology and provincial government has offered attractive packages and special measures for the foreign investors in Sindh. He was talking to Chairman of Microsoft Company for Middle East and Africa Emre Birken, and its Country Manager Jawad-ur-Rehman at his office.
Emre Birken said that Microsoft Company would take initiative to invest in IT sector in Sindh soon. As many as 20,000 Pakistani could get job opportunity in this sector while the youth especially students, people related to media and their children would be provided training.
Mustafa Kamal said Sindh IT Department is trying to make Karachi a Cyber City. He said there are plenty offers for investment in IT sector in Sindh and the investors of all over the world are being invited for investment.
He said many of the investors want to establish IT industry zone.
Mustafa Kamal told the delegation that Sindh IT Department is working on different programmes for promotion of IT and 30,000 people are being provided computer training.
He said net working at New Sindh Secretariat and Tughluq House has been completed and all the secretariats would be inter-linked. Other organisation and the government offices in other cities of the province would also be inter-linked to facilitate the people.
The minister said many companies in the country and abroad are being contacted for improvement of IT infrastructure in the province so that this sector could promote.
He assured the delegation for provision of security to all foreign investors so that they could work here peacefully.
