Governor Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that Karachi is the city of peace, harmony, love and brotherhood, and through collective efforts of the government and the people glories of the city have been restored and life's routine is normal. Addressing the concluding ceremony of three-day sea festival here on Sunday, the Sindh governor added that endeavours were underway to further boost the bustle of activity in the metropolis and to make it the best city of the world, and these efforts would be accelerated.
Ibad said this city is also the emerging economic hub of the region and intellectual and political center of the country.
Dr Ibad praised the performance of city, provincial and federal institutions, Pakistan Navy and other departments concerned and congratulated them on holding of the festival. He said it would be an endeavour to arrange more such programmes.
The Sindh governor said the government is constantly striving to promote cultural activities, adding that the objective of such events was to provide better environment besides recreational facilities.
He directed that holding of programmes like sea festival should be kept up uninterruptedly so that people could have entertainment facilities. Provincial Ministers, senior officials and distinguished personalities of city were also present in the ceremony. The festival organisers lauded the personal efforts, guidance and co-operation extended by the Sindh governor.
