Romanian envoy for private sector joint ventures

Romanian and Pakistani private sectors should launch joint ventures to share their experiences and exploit the untapped potential of the bilateral trade. This was stated by Emil Ghitu Iescu, Ambassador of the Romania, while addressing the members of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). He identified lack of information, as major constraint for the promotion of bilateral trade between the two countries.
He said that governments of the two countries have already set up a joint economic commission, which could play a major role in bringing the business community of both countries closer.
He said that opportunities were available for investment in Romania and in this connection Romanian government will provide best possible facilities to the investors. He acknowledged the importance of textile sector and offered a trade mission to visit Romania. He also proposed a display centre at Romania for Pakistani textile products.
Commenting upon gems and jewellery, the Romanian ambassador said that his country could help Pakistan in the cutting and finishing of precious stones.
Earlier in his address of welcome Mian Muhammad Idrees President FCCI stressed the need of co-operation between the two countries. Later a memento of Chamber was also presented to the visiting dignitary.
