At least 12 people, including drivers of truck and bus, child and an aged woman, were killed and another 40 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and truck near the Toll Plaza of Rojhan on the Indus Highway, on Thursday morning. A Peshawar-bound air-conditioned bus, coming from Karachi, collided head-on with a truck near the toll plaza, while trying to save a motorcyclist, who suddenly came on the highway from a link road.
The injured were rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Rojhan. Four of the injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Thirteen injured were relieved after providing first aid. Emergency has been declared in district hospitals and leaves of doctors and paramedical staff have been cancelled for two days.
Meanwhile, transporters and traders of Rajanpur have announced to observe two-day mourning.
