Residential facilities to education staff promised

Federal Minister for Education Lieutenant General Javed Ashraf Qazi (Retd) has pledged to provision of residential facilities to the federal government education staff serving in Islamabad. He was addressing to the media men on the occasion of annual Academic Awards and Graduation ceremony" of the "Roots College International" here on Thursday. Qazi said that the summary has been forwarded to the Housing Ministry for provision of residential facilities to staff of federal education department.
He clarified that in case of rejection the summary from the housing ministry, he would approach the Prime Minister to meet the genuine demands the staff.
The minister further said that through a pilot project 10 federal government high schools in Islamabad would start teaching mathematics and science subjects in English from the new session.
Qazi said that introduction of English medium was the first step of improving education standard in the government running education institutions.
He pointed out that the second step would be replacement of examination system with multiple choice questions (MCQs) instead of subjective type examination, adding that such system would be helpful in enhancing the understanding of students.
As a part of the modernisation, the ministry would induct highly qualified teachers and professional faculties in educational institutions with attractive package, the minister maintained.
Talking about the Deeni Madaris, Qazi said that ministry is ready to extend maximum support, if these seminaries were interested in updating themselves.
Earlier, the principal of the Roots College said that their institute is imparting not only standard education but also provide opportunities to the students to improve their leadership qualities.
