'Woman'... a unique creation of God

15 Jan, 2005

It is an old saying that the woman was created from the rib of the man and as such stands by the side of a man eversince she came into being. The logic behind her creation would be nothing but to make a companion of a man. A concrete companionship that would end the day this universe loses its existence. We cannot be wrong in saying that this creation of woman was meant for the whole mankind and should be accepted as a gift of God.
We thank God and give her all due respect, honour and affectionmust which she deserves. The relationship of a man with the woman is everlasting, and is shared with the spirit of tirelessness irrespective of different faiths, belief, age, and religion throughout the world. God has awarded her with innumerable qualities in her nature.
Woman is a symbol of beauty, love, courage, determination, flexibility, patience, emotions and compromising nature. She is like a deep sea having unmeasured and unlimited scope of qualities of womankind. She is simple by nature un-selfish, acceptability and faithfulness towards her relationship with the man.
She is a model of worthiness, worthiness that she does not lose till the day she is dead, but her blessings are still alive for different relationships, even after her death. The concept of woman can be summed as a rethym; with a sense of amusingness with the relationship as a mother, sister, wife or daughter.
She has been performing in her life multiple roles, at a time, on the stage of the world as an unchallengeable and unbeaten character. As compared to the responsibilities of a man, a woman has been more responsible in her practical life.
She has to please and satisfy others at the cost of her own feelings and desires. From the day she gives birth to a child, she forgets all about her thirst and hunger in her responsibilities towards the child. Beside, being a mother she may have the responsibility of the husband as well. She may be a sister or a daughter too at the same time. How does she manage all these at the same time?
Undoubtedly, God has created the woman as a distinctive figure but the man has classified her as a secondary element, irrespective of her natural boundless qualities. Our religion accepts the woman with the principle of equity but our society has created the boundaries around her, resultantly humiliated her with the sense of inferiority complex.
He assumes that she is liable to obey him in all respects without justifying whether or not his all the moves are fair or foul. Due to the softness of her nature the man has molded her according to his wishes. Due to lack of basic education and lack of awareness of Islamic ideology she is being neglected from her basic rights, in the society.
In view of religious belief that a husband is supposed to be a "Majazi Khuda" for a wife and thus the woman as a wife or even before her marriage starts thinking that way and presumably considers herself in the same category. Thus her feeling for the relationship makes her so responsible and she appears to be under his influence.
She has been a victim of man's ill treatment, who treats her as his property. Man disgraced, disrespects her and forces her to bow down before him for the sake of his supremacy over her. Different groups of men treat her in different ways.
Some of them think that she is a device to produce the family. Some think that she is a caretaker of his family, others think as if she is a financial supporter of the family. She has been victim of his desire and he considers her as a source of entertainment with the result she has been forcibly thrown, in the middle of arena, uncovered, helplessly, for the sake of his satisfaction.
Besides, her natural qualities, she does possess worldly qualities as well. She has been a central attraction of the house, who converts it into home, manages to arrange it, decorates it; tries to make it more beautiful. She has proved herself to be capable of standing side by side with a man in order to perform in different fields and walks of life.
She has also proved that she is not only capable but she is as good/useful as a man can be in participating in different circles with success with the results she evaluates herself in the modern society. With the pace of time she has shown the capability of woman in different forms. She is now worthy enough to hold some responsible positions in the fields like banks, business, education, medicine, media, judiciary, law and country's envoy abroad. So much so that she can sacrify her life as a suicide bomber, for a noble cause for the sake of her country.
The efforts exercised by the woman are tremendous in the areas where the man dominates, but a certain portion has so far been conquered under her jurisdiction, where the education including awareness of her rights has already entered and that has shown its influence inside.
Awareness through the courtesy of media has also played a significant role in boosting the spirit in woman, to gear up for a battle for betterment of woman, and also to get a relief from the man made motivations against her.
But still he is not prepared to accept her existence and as such the rest of the women population is still suffering from the same suffocation due to overwhelming influence of man. She is still under the tight grip of man who does not allow her to move independently. He, deep in the heart, still thinks her a rival, and a competitor. He also knows the qualities of a woman but reluctantly acknowledges it.
As the circle of the globe moves round and round, it brings the changes for the humankind living on the earth in view of the efforts made by human in the hope of finding more and more about its existence. But the improvement in respect of woman's basic concept is still at the same level of thoughts with regard to man's thinking and the feelings that he owns from the very beginning till today, irrespective of different cultures on earth, posing his superiority over woman.
But he forgets that the superiority is meant for God and not for human being. Will this attitude of man change towards the woman or resultantly the woman will be suffering from the same uneasiness, uncomfortness, and humiliation. He mistakenly thinks that he is not accountable to anyone.
There is dire need to teach woman of middle and lower middle class to have a sense of awareness of their basic rights, their own importance in the life, their share in the family and courage to defend the unjust ice against the entire woman community.
The woman should also understand that solution lies under the umbrella of education and education alone. No community, no nation can compete anywhere with out acquiring education. A sensible group of men who understand the value of women can play basic role in promoting this idea.
The media can also play a significant role for this noble cause, instead of utilising the woman for the sake of publicity/advertisement only.
Though the government has been making efforts for the purpose of alleviation of illiteracy within its means but the general public, particularly the business community, can help a lot side by side for the same cause, for which they are morally obligated to.
