Jamaat-ut-Dawa, Pakistan has started the process of sending medical teams, medicines and volunteers to help the tsunami affectees in South Asian countries except India. While addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Organiser of the relief committee Maulana Ameer Hamza said the first consignment of relief goods has been dispatched in consultation with embassies of concerned countries. 'All the embassies except the Indian embassy have responded positively' he added.
This step has been taken on the direction of Ameer Jamaat-ut-Dawa, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.
He said medicines; food items, clothes, blankets and tents have been dispatched in the first consignment. The delay in sending relief goods was due to lack of information about requirements of effected countries, he added.
