Most New York cocoa futures ended modestly weaker Friday as trade and producer selling got the best of an early rally ahead of the holiday weekend, traders said. New York Board of Trade's benchmark March cocoa contract eased $5 to settle at $1,500 a tonne after trading in a narrow range from $1,490 to $1,513.
Among other products, May declined $5 to $1,507 and longer-dated deliveries closed from up $1 to down $4 amid estimated trading volume of 7,812 lots shortly before the market closed.
