Punjab to expand franchised bus service

16 Jan, 2005

Punjab government has decided to expand franchised bus service in main cities of the province aimed at providing better travelling facilities to the masses. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that the franchised bus service would be started in Sialkot, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura in the near future. In this regard, necessary arrangements are being finalised while several transport companies have applied for the operation in these cities.
The commencement of franchised bus service in these major cities would not only provide better travelling facilities to the people but also help reduce the pollution load caused by the old and defective buses and wagons.
