A 25-hour stand-off between freedom fighters and Indian occupation forces in Indian occupied Kashmir's main city ended on Sunday after two freedom fighters holed up inside an indoor stadium were killed by occupation troops, police said. They said one of the freedom fighters was killed in a gun battle early on Sunday and his accomplice was shot dead later in the day when occupation troops stormed the sports stadium complex in occupied Srinagar.
"The second freedom fighter has been killed and the operation is over," a senior police official told Reuters.
Two Indian policemen were also killed in the gun battle with the freedom fighters.
In another incident, two people were killed and 17 wounded when freedom fighters threw a grenade at a rally for civic elections in occupied Srinagar.
