Model park inaugurated

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan Advocate inaugurated Mahmoodabad Model Park in Jamshed Town here on Sunday. The Mahmoodabad Model park encircles an area of 10 acres. Addressing the inauguration ceremony the City Nazim announced that following the demands of the youth of the area a comprehensive football ground would be constructed at the Model Park. Moreover, feasibility would be reviewed at the session of District Regional Transport Authority Board to initiate bus service under Urban Transport Scheme from Mahmoodabad.
Naimatullah Khan claimed that City Games were successfully held in which all sportsmen were selected on merit. As many as 10 thousand players participated in the 24 different events. He observed that there was a need of sport grounds for the youth while CDGK was installing field lights at the grounds so that sports activities could be undertaken during night hours.
"We are willing to make Karachi a city of lights and beautiful parks in its true sense" adding that City Nazim said that garbage dens were being transformed in green parks and encroachments over the play grounds were being removed.
Naimatullah Khan said that old buses were a major cause of increasing environment pollution and in order to cater the situation CNG busses from China and other countries were being imported to replace the older ones.
Nazim Jamshed Town Ahmed Parekh, City Nazim Advisor Works Abid Ilyas, Qazi Sadaruddin, Liaquat Ali Khan and others were present.
