Balochistan resources being tapped: Shaukat

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday said there are huge reserves of oil, gas and natural resources in Balochistan and added that the government is focusing to tap these reserves. He was talking to Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resource Mir Muhammad Naseer Khan Mengal here at the Prime Minister House. The Prime Minister said many companies were carrying out exploration activities in Balochistan to extract these natural resources.
The Prime Minister hoped the standard of living of the people of Balochistan would be raised once the ongoing mega projects were completed.
The Prime Minister said unprecedented investment was being made in Balochistan that would provide job opportunities to the people of that province and would bring prosperity.
Naseer Khan Mengal briefed the Prime Minister about the matters pertaining to his ministry.
He said the construction of Sabakzai Dam would have far-reaching effects on the economy and help a great deal in removing backwardness and bringing prosperity in the region.
The minister also informed the Prime Minister about the progress on the ongoing development schemes in his area.
