Collectors' role lauded

Sarhad Chamber Executive Committee Member and Frontier Customs Agents Group Chairman Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi has hailed Customs Collector Liaquat Alley Agha and Sales Tax Collector Ghulam Ahmad for clearance of rebate and sales tax refund cases during last three months. In a Press release issued here on Sunday, he said there were a total of 3,905 claim cases of rebate and 125 claim cases of sales tax refund with handsome amounts of Rs 270 million and Rs 346.21 million, respectively, which have been paid to the exporters within a short span of three months.
He thanked Central Board of Revenue (CBR) Chairman Abdullah Yousaf, Customs Collector Liaquat Alley Agha and Sales Tax Collector Ghulam Ahmad, saying this step would go a long way in the encouragement of both the traders and the exporters of the province.
Sarhadi demanded of the CBR chief to announce extra-salaries and award special commendation certificates for the government officials concerned, who had worked work for two months to clear the rebate and sales tax refund cases of the exporters.
