SHOs asked for safe transportation of hides on Eid

Inspector General Police, Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah on Sunday ordered Sindh police to make extra ordinary efforts to provide protection to people and sellers of sacrificial animals. In a special directive IG Police ordered all District and Town Police Officers to prepare contingency plan for their respective areas of jurisdiction and submit the same to his office by January 17.
IG Sindh specifically directed that police officials shall be deployed on routes frequented by the people going to markets where sacrificial animals are offered for sale, provide safety to owners of cattle-heads carrying money. Pickets be established on all exit and entry points, ordered IG police.
He also directed police to take an action against persons who establish temporary market at a place other than notified by the city administration.
The IG police ordered strict compliance of policy laid down by the government for collecting hides and skins of sacrificial animals by NGOs, religious institutions etc and said in case of any violation police officials shall take immediate action.
It is the sole right of the people to donate hides of sacrificial animals to any person, group, party or institution and any forcible measure is against Islam, IGP Sindh noted directing police to remain vigilant against snatching of hides like previous years.
He ordered strict enforcement of directive in respect of hides and directed that adequate police force be deployed at points notified by the city administration as collection points.
He said that area SHO would be responsible for safe transportation of hides to leather factories in their jurisdiction and while handing over the SHO shall make entry on police control.
IGP also ordered fool proof security measures outside all the places where Eid-ul-Azha prayers will be offered. Strict measures were also ordered in respect of picnic spots, recreational places, besides increased patrolling and picketing.
Syed Kamal Shah while ordering deployment of police commandos at sensitive points and reserved platoons for anti riot duties, said he would make surprise visits to evaluate the state of alertness in police force.
