Bid to smuggle heroin through courier parcels foiled

The staff of Custom's Export Collectorate thwarted a plan of smuggling narcotics to the Europe and USA through courier parcels on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. The Collector Exports Javed Kazi passed on information filtering in on this count to Additional Collector Islahuddin who directed the staff for maintaining vigil on the exports through courier parcels.
Acting on an information, the Deputy Collector Air Freight Unit (Exports) Jamil Ahmed Baloch personally intercepted and examined a consignment of courier parcels booked through M/s A J World Wide Services and succeeded in recovery of 3 Kg fine quality Heroin which was cleverly concealed in photo frames.
The parcels were destined for UK. The contraband was seized and further investigation was in progress.
