Lesco allocates Rs 50 million to replace faulty meters

Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) is working to reduce complaints of over billing and related matters and has allocated over Rs 50 million for the correction and replacement of faulty/sluggish meters. More than 2.4 million meters of all types had been installed in the Lesco infrastructure, of which 23,020 meters were checked and replaced during the last year, said a press release here on Monday.
The Lesco also plans to install 300,000 single-phase electric meters and 70,000 three-phase meters in its system. For checking and fault eradication of the meters, the Lesco has extended financial and technical cooperation to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore to establish a sophisticated meter-testing laboratory.
