Government striving to promote farm sector: Amir

Speaker, National Assembly, Chaudhry Amir Hussain, has said the present government is endeavouring to promote agriculture sector to attain food autarky. Addressing a big public meeting in adjoining village Jhulki on Sunday evening, he said the government has taken numerous drastic steps to minimise the problems of farmers community enabling them to play their instrumental role in the farm sector, as all banks were extending loan facilities to the farmers on low mark-up rate.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain said the government has concentrated its special focus on reducing the problems being confronting by the growers community, adding that huge funds were being utilised on banishing backwardness and face-lifting of ignored and far-off areas of the country.
He said the step has been taken to bring these areas at par with developed ones on by providing basic facilities like Sui gas, telecommunication, electricity, education, health, and means of communication, adding the social welfare of the masses is on top of the government agenda and making adequate efforts for the redress of the people's problems on top priority basis.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain also said that Rs 550 million has been spent on the provision of Sui gas in various villages besides, the Sialkot district government had also spent Rs 370 million on various development projects in NA-111, and the work on various development projects is in full swing.
The NA speaker called upon the people that they forge complete unity among their ranks and strengthen the hands of the government for brining revolutionary changes in every sphere of life.
"It is our moral, religious and national obligation that we should serve the country from core of our hearts because Pakistan has given us everything", he said, adding: "It is high time that we should work jointly for making Pakistan an economically strong as well as invincible fort of the globe.
Speaking on the occasion, Sialkot District Nazim Mian Naeem Javed said more than Rs 7 billion being spent on various mega projects in Sialkot district, while special attention has been accorded on the promotion of education at a cost of Rs 1.50 billion in Sialkot district.
Earlier, Chaudhry Amir Hussain along with District Nazim and other elected representatives performed the stone-laying ceremony of upgradation of the village school.
