No Kuwaiti visa ban for Pakistanis

18 Jan, 2005

No ban of any kind had been imposed by the government of Kuwait on issuance of visas to Pakistanis. The visa requests were, therefore, being processed in normal routine, says the Pakistan Embassy here. A local daily had reported earlier that the Kuwait government "had imposed a ban" on issuance of work, visit or family visas to Pakistani nationals with effect from January 8.
To ascertain the factual position, Pakistan Ambassador Khizar Hayat Khan Niazi spoke to Under Secretary of Kuwait's Ministry of Interior, General Naser Al Othman.
The under-secretary categorically denied any such ban on issuance of visas, Khaleej Times reported on Monday.
