'Rahnuma committee' for SMEs approved

Establishment of Rahnuma Committee for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs-RC) has been approved. The Community Development Department Social Welfare Wing District Officer Muhammad Rahim Lakho approved the name and establishment of a Rahnuma Committee for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs-RC) welfare under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Act, recently through a letter.
This was disclosed by the Union of Small & Medium Enterprises (Unisame) President Zulfikar Thaver. He also announced the names of Muhammad Hassanally, Sajid Naqvi, Muhammad Ali R Merchant, Saleem Merchant, Muhammad Saeed, Asif Vohra, Yasin Thaver, Ali Haider & Hassan Asghar on the board of governors of the welfare organisation committees for the education, support, encouragement, motivation, facilitation and welfare of the small & medium entrepreneurs.
The SMEs -RC has also an agenda for the establishment of medical centre, computer centre, child welfare centre and self-employment training centre, he mentioned. He added that Unisame intends to set up such Committees in all the districts of the country to promote rapid development of SMEs from grass root level.
He further thanked Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain former Prime Minister of Pakistan for giving permission for the setting up of Committees on the pattern of Khidmat Committee for uplift of the SMEs sector and promised to focus on the problems facing the sector and work for their redressal.
