Timely completion of water projects urged

The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Tariq Hamid has called upon the project managers to expedite their efforts for timely completion of projects so that the nation could start accruing their benefits for economic stability. While chairing a performance review meeting of the Water Wing here on Tuesday, Tariq Hamid assured the engineers and other supporting staff, executing the projects, that all out efforts would be made for providing a safe and secure working environment so that they could work with peace of mind for timely completion of the projects.
The pace of work on various projects in water sector came under discussion in the meeting. It was noted with satisfaction that work on majority of the projects was going as per schedule.
The meeting was briefed about the projects being executed under 'Water Resources and Hydropower Development: Vision-2025'. Drainage schemes i e Right Bank Outfall Drain (RBOD) I, II & III, Left Bank Outfall Drain (LBOD) and National Drainage Programme (NDP) were also discussed. The meeting also reviewed Chashma Right Bank Canal, Chashma Lift-Cum-Gravity Canal, Sehwan Barrage Complex and other water sector projects as well.
