Industrialisation being stepped up: minister

Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives Jehangir Khan Tareen has said that the government is trying its best to activate the current special industrial zones in order to increase the pace of industrialisation in the country as rapid industrialisation would play a pivotal role in the country's economic development and offer employment opportunities in the area." The minister made the remarks while presiding over a high-level meeting, which reviewed the progress of special industrial zones in the country.
The minister was informed that two special industrial zones were already working in Nawabshah and Winder (Balochistan). The minister was also requested to provide them some relief in tariff terms. Moreover, the minister was invited to visit these zones.
Tareen assured them that he would raise their tariff concerns with the Ministry of Commerce and CBR. He also reiterated that the government is determined to provide all possible facilities and incentives to the business community to encourage them to invest in these zones.
He urged the businessmen to come forward and make most of the incentives provided by the government.
